Sales of diagnostic mammography equipment in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to rise significantly over the next eight years, according to two recently published studies. The reports by Globalcan and GlobalData vary in their specific findings. But both project compound annual growth rates in mammography systems markets in the region of more than 8% between now and 2028.
The increase is being driven by the growth in the number of women over 40, as the population of the region ages. Older women are more susceptible to breast cancer. Also factoring into the increase is the growing sophistication of healthcare systems in the region and an increased emphasis on preventative care.
