With the COVID-19 pandemic driving growing demand for digital health services, Hong Kong’s government has begun to take some steps to foster telehealth offerings, mobile healthcare apps, and increased use of digital technologies in hospitals and outpatient clinics.
The developments include the promulgation of digital location services and navigation technology, video conferencing offerings for patients and health professionals, digital appointment scheduling, and generation of clinical records.
But Hong Kong still lags in its use of digital technologies in healthcare behind some other countries in the region, including Singapore.
